We invite you to come and to discover the Alqueva a new touristic attraction. Still pure and untouchable,this area is the best place to enjoy a relaxing and unique days. Surround by little villages you will have the change to contact the popular people and know the costumes of one of the last explored areas in Portugal and for that reason, large areas around the lake are nature reserves (National Ecology Reserve).

In a breathtaking way the “new” water is embedded in the landscape very naturally and offers an environment free of any pollution. Offering you also the possibility to have different experiences, contacting the nature you can also explore this great lake unexplored. So there is a variety of suggestions for the tourist such as the visit of the small villages like Amieira, Alqueva and Estrela directly on the water is a wonderful destination, where a lot of activities can be done: boat trips, sailing, horse riding, swimming, fishing…

Visitors wanting to enjoy archaeological and architectonic patrimony can visit Alandroal, Portel, Monsaraz, Juromenha and Terena.

House Boats
Thanks to the autonomy of these boats the users can navigate the Great Lake, in the authorised zones, docking easily and then visiting the nearby villages and other interesting areas either on foot or bicycle, benefiting of all the touristic potential of the region.
Besides the bedrooms, sanitary installations and common living spaces, the houseboats have spaces for sunning, fishing and outdoor barbeques. There is no reason for monotony for the users of our houseboats.
All the vessels are equipped with localization and safety equipment: Plotter, GPS and vertical sweeping sounds. Minimum/maximum capacity: 4 / 12 people.

Alqueva Dam
The characteristics of this dam, that includes the vales of the Guadiana and Degebe rivers and Alcarrache, Zebro e Lucefecit streams, offer real potential for tourist attractions, specially its proximity to the villages and towns of the Alentejo. The Alqueva dam is part of the Alqueva dam infrastructure, located on the river Guadiana. It forms a reservoir with a huge storage capacity, and features the following: 96m in height, 83km long reservoir, 3 150hm3 useable capacity, 250km2 in area. The Alqueva dam is the only large hydro power plant in southern Portugal, located on the Guadiana river. It is equipped with two reversible pump-turbine/generator sets, with a unit power of about 130MW each.

1st Day – Arrival to Lisbon/Faro or Porto airport. Pick up the car. Rest of the day and evening dedicated to discover the surrounding areas.

2nd & 3rd Day – Plan your day according with the activities you wish to do. We would like to suggest also to spend some of your time visiting the surround areas.

Last Day – You should be at the airport with enough time to deliver the car and the check in before your flight schedule departure.
